About These Studies

I think of these studies as records of attention rather than finished works. Some begin with a leaf, a scrap of cloth, a texture, a shadow, or a question. Others grow through stitching, drawing, gathering, or experimenting with materials. I follow what interests me, make a record of what I notice, and allow the work to remain open long enough to discover where it wants to go.
